IS LACE ECO FRIENDLY?

Synthetic fibers are often used within the fashion industry, as they are often a cheap alternative to natural fibers. They can be produces at a fast pace and low cost for the producers, but they often have a damaging impact on the environment.

So the short answer is: no, most lace fabrics are not eco friendly.

But we have found an eco friendly alternative!

So we can offer sustainable underwear essentials with lace trimmings, super soft lace fabrics, that are made of recycled polyamide fibers.

WHAT IS RECYCLED POLYAMIDE?

Polyamide is almost infinitely recyclable. It can be recycled, recreated, remolded, and become brand new again to create new products without having to use new resources.

Recycled polyamide is a material that has been recycled from waste. The raw material source for recycled polyamide can be old fishing nets and carpets, and also waste from manufacturing industry.

SO WHY IS NOT ALL LACE UNDERWEAR MADE OF RECYCLED FIBERS?

Unfortunately, recycling is a costly process. Synthetic fabrics like polyester, polyamide, and acrylic are often used in clothing because they are cheap. Recycled polyamide is more expensive to produce than virgin polyamide material.

'Econyl' is one popular brand of recycled polyamide. It's made of regenerated fibers from post-consumer plastics, carpet flooring, fishing nets, and other industrial wastes.

So you can rest assured, that when you choose one of our lace styles, you will be getting the best alternative out there, when it comes to sustainably produced lace. All our lace fibers are from 'Econyl' and combined with natural, breathable materials such as modal.

The Lace Trimmed JUPITER panties are made of our signature modal fabric. Breathable, super soft & light as air. It is trimmed with a delicate lace tape, made of recycled polyamide (fishnets, plastic bottles etc. Waste derived from the oceans).

This fitting is as our classic Cheeky Base fit. So no side seams. A Brazil cut fitting. The perfect undies to wear under tight fitted clothing pieces.

The soft waist band ensures a flawless / no bumps silhouette.

We’ve used the fabric modal, which makes them incredibly soft and nice to wear all day (and night). You will almost forget that you are wearing underwear! Modal is irritation free and naturally prevents the growth of bacteria. Modal is also a great choice when it comes to sustainable fabrics.
